The Friends of Northwest Park is a not for profit 501(c3) organization. The Friends solicits and accepts gifts for purposes that will help the organization further and fulfill its mission. All gifts are expended for that purpose. The Friends has no paid employees. Donations will generally be accepted from individuals, partnerships, corporations, foundations, government agencies, or other entities, without limitation. In the course of its regular fund raising activities, The Friends will accept donations of money, real property, personal property, stock, and in-kind services. (Certain of these gifts must be reviewed prior to their acceptance if they may pose special liabilities to The Friends.) Restrictions on gifts: The Friends will not accept gifts that (a) would result in The Friends violating its corporate charter, (b) would result in The Friends losing its status as an IRC 501(c3) not-for-profit organization, (c) are too difficult or too expensive or complicated to administer in relation to their value, (d) would result in any unacceptable consequences for The Friends, or (e) are for purposes outside of The Friends mission.

Located in historic Windsor, Connecticut, USA, Northwest Park and Nature Preserve is a 473-acre Municipal Park owned and operated by the Town of Windsor, Connecticut and is within the Department of Recreation and Leisure Services. From its beginning in 1972, much of what once was tobacco farmland has been converted to biologically diverse forests and fields embedded with streams and many pristine views – areas that are accessible by 12 miles of hiking trails. The mission of Northwest Park is to maintain, enhance and protect habitat for native species, while providing educational and passive recreational opportunities for the public through a municipal park. Northwest Park will strive to remain an accessible “living classroom” with a diverse habitat that ties Windsor’s past to the present, while showcasing the future. Educational and passive recreational experiences will be offered everyday for persons of all ages and abilities, while serving as a model of land management, wildlife conservation and sustainable practices.. Our address is 145 Lang Road, Windsor, CT. The Friends of Northwest Park is a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation devoted to cooperating with the Town to promote and preserve the environmental beauty of the park, to maintain the Nature Center, and to providing public nature programs of many kinds for the benefit of our visitors.
