What is Camp Foxfire?

Camp Foxfire day camp engages children in active, field-based exploration where they can develop a deeper appreciation of nature while learning new skills and having fun outdoors. We accomplish these objectives through a variety of hands-on activities that nurture each child’s curiosity for nature to create a dynamic and thrilling learning experience! Being immersed in these unique, firsthand experiences can inspire a lifelong appreciation for our environment that transforms how we think, make decisions, and lead our lives for a more sustainable future.

Our campers enjoy exploring our 473-acre park through discovery-based activities such as: hiking the trails, live animal interactions, rolling logs to search for salamanders, dipping a net in the pond to learn more about aquatic critters, playing nature-themed games and creating artistic masterpieces from natural materials. As campers get older, they will experience even greater adventures. Offsite daytrips, canoeing Rainbow Reservoir, and overnight camping opportunities enhance the weekly theme and deepen their connection to, understanding of and respect for nature.

Our highest priority is to provide the best service to our community in the safest manner possible. We successfully ran our programs through the unprecedented summers of 2020, 2021, & 2022, and continue to stay informed and enact best practice health protocols. We look forward to hosting your greatest adventure yet!
